Lost NuvaRing

I have been using the NuvaRing for about a nine months. I haven't had any problems until this month. When I went to remove it, it wasn't there. I know I put it in. I never felt it fall out and I've looked around for it. Everything says it can't get too far. Does that mean it can't be
