Lost E61. What next?

I lost my E61 on a trip and am looking for a cost effective replacement. I bought it unlocked and negotiated a subsidy with T-mobile USA in exchange for a two year contract. Since it's unsupported in US no insurance (or warranty) was available. I'm using my old Sony Ericsson P910 in the meantime.

I'd like to spend no more than $250 for a "temporary" replacement that will permit me to surf relatively quickly and where i can reload my old software like Papyrus, Handy Day Expense, Opera, mobile gmaps etc. MOst important is being able to synch with my office PC and home Mac. The e61 did that reasonably well, the 910 not.

By the end of the year I hope to either get the E61i (only if US supported) or the e90.

Yes, I would also highly recommend E50! You'll basically have the same phone, minus a QWERTY keyboard and some features like Wi-Fi and 3G. The screen is smaller, but the resolution is the same. The phone runs on the same OS, so you'd of course can install all the applications you had in your E61.

The E50 comes with a camera, the E50-2 does not. The camera is of average quality. If it's okay with you and the price difference doesn't matter much, you can opt for the camera version.

And, sorry to hear that you lost your phone. Be more careful the next time!

i've lost mine last week and now using my old SE T630. i too have been looking for some replacement phone. looks like i could possibly get a RIZR Z3 or KRZR for free. so i might just use that and wait for E65 price to drop or E61i to come out.

haha, come on! i take free anything. i think they are better than SE T630.

i think i am gonna get a E65 or E61i eventually. i need to read up on what's new on E61i from the previous version.

The E62 is not especially cheap; almost the same price of the E61 according to various retail websites. From all the helpful responses it looks like buying a "cheap" E50 might be the best short term stopgap. Thanks to all.
