Hey Trail....congrats on day 2, for me the first 3 days are the worst. thats great your already feelin better. the depression part sucks. plain and simple and its the worst symptom for me. i find that is what usually causes people to go back to the drugs cuz we all wana feel good again but drugs arent the way to go. when ur abusing ur losing. hang tuff.

I've been taking lorcet 10/650 for about 4 years, I'm up to about 6 a day now 3 in the morning and 3 in the afternoon.I had a liver function test 4 months ago and it was normal, but I know if I continue I will destroy my liver. Has anyone here took that amount for 4 or 5 years? I will be out tomorrow and am going to try to quit again, I've stopped taking them about 4 different times for as long as 5 months and would hurt my back and be back on them. Any advice would be welcome.

Thank You

This is day 4 and I have been nauseated the last 2 days' I haven't vomited but feel terrible, hope this feeling goes away soon. Can you give me any encouragement. how long do you think it will last?

I have been taking vic 10/325 for about as long as you. I have a bad back and fibro. I started about 10 yrs. ago on pain pills. I have taken as many as 18 a day. I have never had any liver problems. But a friend of mine died from kidney and liver failure due to the pills. she was taking as much as I was. some people just handle it better than others.tapering never helped me. I would feel bad and take more. I have had such a bad experience with with drawals. A few times I have tapered down with tramadol help. but only because I was out of my vics. as soon as I could get more vics or oxys I would eat them all very quickly. Suboxone seems to help me. I have been on them for 4 days. so much better than cold turkey. I am taking 1/2 of what the sub dr. prescribed. good luck

Trailrider- Congrats on making it to day 4!!! That is a great accomplishment. I can only tell you that when my hubby had to overcome two separate addictions, the first 4-5 days were the worst for him. Days 6-10 were not a walk in the park, but not as bad as days 1-5. After about day 10 he started seeing daily improvement in how he felt. His sleep patterns also improved. The mental cravings actually stayed with him for a long time though, but he made it through and has been sober for many years now.

If you have made it to day four, then you are hopefully really close to the turning point where you start feeling better. Just a few more days maybe. You have made it this long, you can keep going. Lot's of people say take it a day at a time, but sometimes you even have to take it each hour at a time.

You are doing really well, so please keep up the good work. Once you start feeling better you will be so glad you stuck with it. You can do this because you are worth it!!!

This is day 5, I got up and felt a lot better, drank a cup of coffee and the nausea came back.the thing that I fear most is that I may have damaged my liver and that is why the nausea is staying with me. I pray that is not the case I think I said before that I had bloodwork the first of Dec. and liver functions were normal but I used pretty heavy for 3 more months maybe this is normal, keep me in your prayers

Trail- The nausea is normal. Right now, your body is really searching to find any trace of the medication, and it is also rebelling against not having that substance. Your brain is going to make all sorts of things happen such as pain, nausea, restless legs etc. in an attempt to get that substance back.

I can tell you that exercise and lots of water is key. Lots of water will help flush your system, and the exercise will cause your brain to produce those endorphins again. Endorphins are the "feel good" chemicals your body makes naturally. When you take opioRAB for an extended period of time, your brain & body forget how to make those endorphins because the medication has been doing for you, you see what I'm saying? I know you may not feel like exercising, but even just getting out and walking is sufficient to get your body making those endorphins again.

Also, another good thing is adding epsom salts to your hot baths. Epsom salts are great for detoxifying your body.

You are doing great, and you can make it through this. It takes so much courage & determination and even sometimes down-right stubborness, and I admire you for sticking with this.

Take care and I hope today is better than yesterday and tomorrow is better than today.

PS- As your body starts making endorphins again, you may actually start feeling "rushes" of happy feelings or excitement out of the blue. This is a good thing because you will know things are getting back to normal!

Thank you for your reply, it's good to hear from someone in the same boat so to speak good luck with the suboxone,I also took tramadol to taper the last time I quit and it was much better than ct.

This whole thing is horrible. Starting out trying to do the right thing and go to the dr. for pain and end up like this. I know I like the high in the beginning, but lately just feeling normal is hard to do. These drugs can work for good reasons, but then they turn on ya real quick. I would like to be able to get normal again and see exactly how bad the pain really is. hard to tell. the withdraw symptoms seem to be close to the pain that I have. back, leg cramps, headaches, etc. having a back issue and fibro kinda stinks. I hope the suboxone is my answer. I have also been taking SAVELLA. only a few days, but I have heard a lot of good things about it. good luck and be strong. we can do this. they say the first step is admitting.. suboxone day 5 and feeling good. only issue is severe leg cramps. not sure what is causing that. will ask dr. this week.

Starquilt

Hope you are still doing well, I am past 48 hrs. now and physically felling quite well but am starting to get depressed the other times that I stopped the depression was the worse, but I'm prepared to deal with it. Was thinking last night that over the past 4 or 5 years I have taken about 5 or 6 thousand of the lorcet and it really made me stop and think long and hard about my life, right now I just want to get back to normal no matter how long it takes.

Thanks for listening

Day 6, the nausea is much better but depression is kicking in again today, also did not sleep much last night, but all in all it is getting better, I wish everyone who starts taking these drugs would come here first and read some of the stories, although I would thought that I could never get addicted even if I had read them.

Thanks for listening
