loose cradle connection

It seems I have to wiggle the T3 to get it to sync or to make the green light come on and stay on. I have tried other cradles and have same results. I have to wiggle travel charger and battery pack and often T3's charging light goes on and off quickly. If electrical, seems like a "short." I tried cleaning the connector pins with eraser and with alcohol--no luck. Anyone have this problem? Any suggestions other than send it in for repair?

Thanks,
Carol

Carol,
You've done all the DIY troubleshooting I would have done and it seems you've narrowed it down to the connector on your T3. At this point, it's hard to tell if there's a loose pin in the connector or the connector itself has a problem. Since neither one is readily fixable by a user, sending it in for repair really is the best course.

I was afraid of that--oh well. Giving up that T3 for only a few days is awful--looks like Palm will take at least 2 weeks. Thanks anyway Jim.

Just a note:

When I put my T3 in the cradle to charge, the green light flashes quickly for about a second, and becomes steady. When I turn on the T3 while it is in the cradle, the light turns off.

Maybe this is the issue?

Andy,

I think that only happens if you're cradle is connected to the USB port but the charger is not plugged to an electrical outlet. It seems that the USB connection can charge the Palm slowly (that's why the light is on) only when the unit is off. When you turn on the unit, the light goes off (meaning not charging).

I agree with the previous reply to Carol's post that the PDA universal connector has a problem (probably a loose connection) because she had already tried using other cradles and connectors. What she did was probably the tests that PalmOne would recommend anyway to isolate the problem, and it seems to Carol's efforts point to the PDA connector as the culprit.
