I have a 99 Chevy Silverado 4WD, Ext. Cab long wide bed, and it has a problem. The bed has started coming apart. Most of the spot welds have broken; the top end of the bed nearest the cab driver side was flapping in the breeze! The right side on the outside of the bed has a rip where it has pulled apart 3 or 4 inches worth of rip. The left side of the bed when you jiggle it will sway an inch or more. Now I don't abuse this truck, my wife drives it to work and we haul groceries home from the store. It did have a cross the bed tool box on it but I was told that might be what was causing the problem so I removed it. The welds in the left fender well are loose as well as where it attaches at the rear bottom tail gate. What would you suggest I do next, I have reattached the top of the bed using bolts and a 1X1/8" strap and it seem tight now.
