I have a project coming up for school where I have to write a report about my family history and specially about an ancestor that came from another country and the experiences they had coming to the U.S. Well.. I got a problem because I never knew my dad's parents or my great grandparents on my dads side of the family and I don't think my gram, on my mom's side, will remember much. So I was wondering if anyone knows a way I can find out this kind of information WITHOUT paying money to find out the information. I was looking on ancestry.com to build a family tree but like I said, I don't know much about either of my grandparents on my dad's side or about any of my ancestors in general. Any help or advice would be nice. I am planning to google for information as well but other peoples advice is nice too.
