I just got a 2005 ford escape that apparently has the "audiophile" sound system, although I'm not too happy with it. I want to put in some new speakers, a subwoofer, and a touch screen head unit (probably a sony). but, how do I know if I even have a subwoofer right now? i don't want to have a "box" in my trunk containing a subwoofer, i want everything hidden. can i just replace the one i have now (if i even do?) also, will i need an amplifier? if so, where are these placed? as i said i want to be pretty low key with this. i don't want my whole trunk turning into an audio control panel with thousands of lights, etc.
