looking to get a n73..

hi guys i'm new here

i've been waiting for 904sh to get unlocked for a while now but it still didn't get unlocked yet so i can't wait any longer cause frankly my z600 is breaking down hahaha.

i'm looking for something with a good camera, and a good design. My friend which is a phone expert is telling me not to get n73 cause theres so many bugs or flaws (he says, and i trust him). But there just doesn't seem to be anything else out there at the moment that looks decent and is affordable. The new nokia announcements are disappointing, the sony annoucements are also not that appealing to me, and sharp is just being jerks. Also do you think n73 is getting too old? its almost been a year since it came out right?

so in conclusion, what are your thoughts on the phone (flaws? good points?) and is it still worth getting (budget is around 4-500) ?

ps. if this has already been asked by someone with a similar situation please redirect me and close things. thanks =)

If you are looking for good camera, then N73 is the best! All the initial bugs are fixed in the latest FW. It is pretty stable now.

I've had an N73 for awhile now & have had zero problems. The only minor annoyance is that the GUI is a little slow sometimes - especially when turning on the camera (it takes about 4 seconds to boot up). But when it does come up, it takes amazing pictures (for a phone). It is by far the best phone I've ever owned, the battery life is excellent, video quality is good, S60 is an awesome & easy to customize OS and, oh yeah, the PHONE functions are excellent (amazing call quality).

Now, all that said, I'm looking to upgrade soon - I want to buy the N95, which will be at least $800 when released, hopefully next month - SO, if you want to buy a lovingly cared for, perfectly running N73 with lots of games & programs already installed for $400, let me know....

if you should .. you should narrow down your options to nokia phones. nokia phones are more advanced than other types of phones such as sony and sharp. cause those phones OS are horrible. they are too simple. and are just plain down no fun. but if you have a nokia symbian 60 v3, there's so much potential in it. you can get all the software you need for it. and they are usefull too. and a good cam will be the n73 like rapolu said. so if you are goign to get a new phone. narrow your options to a nokia, imo

thanks for all your reply guys

haha thats the part that i was scared of that they're TOO advance for me with all the softwares and stuff that I would have to add cause this will be my first smartphone. So i basicly have to learn all this stuff ><

no problem with joystick, crashing, load time? cause that seems to be the problem with a lot of people... but i guess if you say the latest firm ware fixes that then i trust you =)

The Joystick is the only thing I don't care for, just because i'd prefer a trackball or something, but it hasn't really given me any problems & it definitely hasn't broken. I still have one of the original FW's on it, I've never upgraded because I've never had any problems & I was afraid an upgrade might mess it up. I believe that I was just lucky to get a good one, after reading all the horror stories on HoFo. It crashes very rarely & usually only if I'm trying to do too much at one time. And as far as load time goes, it's weird - the first time you go into Tools or Applications, it is slow, but after that it is very quick (unless you reboot your phone, then it starts over) and I mentioned before that the camera is somewhat slow to start up. Overall, though I would highly recommend it. I just wish the 3G worked in the USA. Definitely the best Quad-band phone currently available (at least until the N95 is finally released)...

Yes I've noticed this. I think it's because the phone loads the icons into the RAM the first time you select a folder.
