Looking to change my seat on S 50

After a good 250 mile cruise I felt that the seat is not fully comfortable enough. I want to put a corbin, mustang or other more comfortable seat on this machine. Does anyone have any input on this type of bike with an aftermarket seat that is much better than stock in the $300-$400 range. Any input from someone that changed the seat on his/hers S50, I would like to hear your opinion on that! I have a 2007 S 50. Thank you in advance.

$70-80 from saddlemen/travelcade and you can buy a 1-2" thick large or extra large gel pad. Then, maybe 30 minutes of your time, you can modify your stock seat to ride better than any $300-400 after market seat.

I recently took apart the "$350" Suzuki Gel seat (came on the wife's bike when bought used) and its gel pad is 1/4 inch thick. The raw gel pad I bought for my seat was about 1 or 2 inches thick. I cut it in half and mounted it in my seat: most comfy seat I've ever had and only cost $65 four years ago.

I was looking at the mustang seat for the bike. (S50) I like the regal duke seat but it does not fit the later models. Does anyone have a mustang seat and how does it compair to the stock seat. I read that the buyers for the mustang seat say it is extremely comfy seat. I have deteriating discs in my back so I need a comfortable seat. Thanks for any info!!!:bluethum:

Yes, that looks good. I was considering that seat but did not see it on any bike. I will try to find the best deal somewhere!

Got The Seat, Put It On, Now The Clouds Are Back And I Have To Put In A 12 Hour Day Saturday. I Am Off Sunday But The Chances Of Rain Are Back. Bummer, I'll Have To Wait To Test The New Seat!!!

Yeah, that is a bummer. If you sit on the new seat you'll notice the comfort and difference. At least you have comfort and it will make riding more fun. Enjoy:bluethum:

I bought a mustang wide touring seat and went from being numb at 50 miles to riding 298 miles and still feeling good. It was worth every red cent. I'll never go back to the stock seat.

Tank,
I have the same seat. The stock seat wouldn't even let me ride 50 miles, more like 5 miles and the numbness set in. I heard elsewhere that bike manufacturers make the stock seats uncomfy to keep the rider more alert. Dunno if that's true.

I put about 50 miles on the new seat, not a long enough test so I will have to test it on the deals gap run this May/June weekend. I hope it seats well. Too dang busy to ride the last Sunday. I bought some rc cars in boxes unassembled cheap, had to assemble and put on the shelf at work to get the money back I spent on the seat!

I also got the Mustang Vintage Wide Touring (After seeing Clutch's pics) and I've put in 13 hours on the bike in a day with no numb butt!

I have a C50T and upgraded to the Mustang seat after about 300 miles on the stock seat and have never been happier!

No more numb butt on long rides. I just did a 750 mile trip to Louisville and back and was fine on the whole ride.
