Hey, I want a nice road bike for the upcoming summer, but I only have about $500... I was wondering from experienced cyclist what the best bike for the buck would be for that price range. Thanks a lot!
Got a credit card? Even a low end entry level bike like the Giant OCR will set you back around $650. The Trek 1.2 $700+. Fuji sells some wannabe road bikes for less. But they're not for a serious rider.They might be what you're looking for though.Since you mentioned the summer,I can only guess you're not a roadie.The Fuji Newest 4.0 sells for under $500.
You can search for a used Trek, Specialized, Giant, Fuji, Cannondale, or other shop quality bike on the local Ebay or Craig's list. You won't get anything new from a shop for $500. If you can assemble and tune a bike bikes direct has some good deals.
