Hi-- I remember a lot of details, but not the name or the author. The short story is set in some urban area (New York?) in the 50/60's or 80's in an African American community. It's about two teenage brothers. They have heard about this old lady in their building who hasn't been seen coming out of her apartment for a long time. Everyone knows she's really poor. They break into her apartment and find out that she's dead (in the bathtub I think) but they also discover that she was insanely rich and had a bunch of stock certificates, but she hoarded all of her money and was living like a pauper. The brothers take all of her money, stock etc. and the younger brother buys himself a coat with part of his money. The older brother flips out. Basically, in the end, the older brother is all messed up about money like the miser. The younger brother finds his older brother in a troubled sleep. He had picked a penny off the ground and labeled it 'Penney. Found on Clarke Street' or something.
