So I saw this movie playing on pbs back in the 90s. It was about this guy who was convinced that all the shopping carts you see laying around were slowly migrating somewhere. He figured out where (some basin) and went on to try to prove his theory with the help of some punk kid. I think he loses his marriage in the process. The movie involved timelapse footage of a cart moving and also the big dipper, when seen from the basin where the carts are headed, has two stars under it to represent wheels. Can anyone tell me what movie this was? Googling "shopping cart movie" is damned useless.
