Okay this book im looking for is a fantasy book.
It may be part of a trilogy but im not sure.
A vague description of the plot is that this boy/man, (is somewhat young) find a glowing stone/pebble and it gives him power to do magic. I believe that before this, magic had not been around for like hundreds of years and this was its first emergence in a long time. They are of course hunted by some sort of enemy. This pebble also glows different colors. Possibly in the second book, (i read the first and second.) the main character has some sort of magic battle in his head with an ancient statue of some great beast. I believe it may have been some type of battle of wills.
Also more stones are found, but the main character's is the most powerful i believe. If anyone has any idea about what this book is i would appreciate your assistance.
