Looking for the name of this old pc game?

I use to play this game in elementary school a couple of years ago. Its educational, its about strategy and more. You start out customizing your little avatars that look like blue tomatos. Theyre like coming off a ship when u start doing this. You can make all kinds like female or male and whether they have on skates, shoes, hats, etc...When youre down you start off on the journey and then you have to do puzzles with each avatar. If your avatar fails then you lose that avatar then you continue with the story/adventure. I never made it to the end and I would appreciate it if I found out the name. THX
