Looking for the best low cost new car?

Hi I need to buy a car on short notice due to a new job outside town. I would like a new one as close to 10000 as I can. I have a money for a down payment, and would like not to spend a lot. I plan on buying a better car in a couple of years. Any suggestions? I prefer not to go with a Kia. Thanks
