Hello, I am a public address announcer for high school volleyball and basketball. I also do the music, and have been doing this for the past 7 years. During that time I have built up an extensive play list of oldies and other sports classics (Jock Rock type of stuff), and a good portion of the audience enjoys it. But one area I always lack in is current music, which the kids would certainly appreciate a little bit more of. The problem with more modern music is that I think it is actually worse to play a song that is three years old, as compared to playing a "sports classic" that is 30 years old, so a lot of the stuff I have had from before I decided to phase out.
I welcome any suggestions of current popular songs that would be appropriate for the environment. Something that the kids would enjoy, but won't go so far as to offend the parents. Songs with cussing or inappropriate themes will not do. Also, I do not mind songs that are sometimes more appropriate for just the boys or just the girls. Thanks!
