hey LAF ~ and OTHERS!!
You must be back from MAINE, unless all the lobster and butter got to you and did you in.
How is your back and groin pain??
Hope you had a great time and felt well, too.
I had my EMG and nerve conduction study on Wed...not altogether horrendous. Would have been tolerable except that it lasted 90 minutes --ugh. I could see the neurologist (who did his fellowship in something pertaining to EMG) was perplexed and that things weren't adding up.
Turns out I do not have neuropathy in my toes and feet -- that it is nerve damage from my lurabar nerve roots instead. He seemed to think this was preferable -- not sure why. Also contrary to what the Pain Management guy and my surgeon thought, L3 is just fine, thank you. Guess that's why I didn't get any results from the nerve block and ESI at L3.
Also, all my problems have been with the right leg and that is where my "new since surgery" pain is located. And guess what??? My nerve damage is much worse in my left leg and foot. And at the L5-S1 level. How crazy is that? :dizzy:
I am eager to talk with my surgeon on Thursday. He's going to give me the official report. I suppose he'll find a way to explain it all away. In any case, it should be interesting.
In the meantime, I don't quite know what to make of my back pain that should be caused by L3.
Any thoughts, anyone???
