Looking for GSM Quad-Band Phone for travel

First post on the forums - hope someone can help.

I'm travelling to Aruba and Finland this year, and I'm looking for an unlocked quad-band GSM phone to use with a local SIM card at these locations. Aside from the travel, I may use the phone for one of my kids on a T-Mobile or Cingular prepaid plan.

There are quite a few of these phones available on ebay, but I have no idea which models are reliable for me to consider. Most important feature, other than good signal reception and sound quality, is a speakerphone, though I can certainly live without it. A Camera would be a bonus, but is not at all necessary.

Also, Cingular has a Samsung S507 refurb for a nice price, but I don't know if they will unlock a prepaid phone for international travel.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Well, there are a lot of phones out there that would fit your needs.

I would say the most reliable phone I have had is my trusty old Razr. In fact I have liked the Razr so much i have kept buying them. I have owned just about every version put out (see my sig).

The Razr has great RF, a great speakerphone, easy to use UI, plus your kids will be happy if you give them this phone, because even after the several years its been out, its still as popular as it ever was.

The V195 (or V195s with MyFaves) is a great basic quad-band phone, too. No camera, just a phone with Bluetooth and great reception and battery life. Between my V3r and V195, the V195 has the V3r beat in reception; I might barely get one bar in my basement with the V3r (usually nothing), but with the V195 I consistently get at least 2 bars.

Thank you, Tjash2010 and Telyx. I'll take a look on eBay and see if I can find an unlocked version of either of these phones. There were a lot of V600's, and v188's, but I wasn't sure if they were any good.
