First off some info about me and what led up to the hep c diagnosis....I'm 34, a hairstylist with no insurance, also type 2 diabetic....took a fall in sept. 2010, sprained ankle twice in a week which cut off blood supply to my foot, caused a diabetic abcess which required a hospital stay of 15 days and 3 surgeries...haven't worked since then....just started physical therapy to relearn how to walk....while in hospital bloodwork came back positive for Hep C...told my general practitioner about it and how was i going to pay for biopsy, testing, meds etc with no insurance and no way to work right now....he said to get ahold of medicaid, texas rehab, county indigent care program, was denied by medicaid and county due to "making" too much (i get 350 a month for child support, their bracket is 214 for 2 people), texas rehab doesn't handle long term medical issues, told me to contact women's clinic in larger city but they wont help since i don't live in their county....i'm at a loss....i know that i can possibly get help with the meds thru the companies but does ANYONE know who i can contact about financial help getting a biopsy and whatever tests have to be done??? There's no way i can afford it....bills are paid with my daughter's disability and child support and the rest goes to taking care of her....i'm scared and have no clue where to turn....any ideas??? Thanks in advance!
