...Situations? I'm looking for a game show type story where humans have to face off or explore interesting situations and environments.
Some examples that I have read and liked are:
The long Walk -Stephen King
The Running Man- Stephen King
The House of Stairs- William Sleator
Battle Royale- Koushun Takami
The Crimson Labyrnith- Yusuke Kishi

Hunger games is the "teen version" of Battle Royale.

Well..maybe not "teen version" but it's a lot less gory.
I thought I'd put the descriptions of the books on here:
The Long Walk- kids have to continue walking until there is only one standing.
The Running Man- A man has to hide from everyone in the world. Whoever finds him, dead or alive, gets a prize.
The House of Stairs- It's not really a game show, but teens are put into a house only having stairs.
Battle Royale- Kids are put on an island where they have to kill each other to survive.
The Crimson Labyrninth- Adults are put into a strange environment where they have to make it through the game.
