vs. Pacquiao fight on Dec 6th? I'm interested in any places in the Bronx or Manhattan that are showing the De La Hoya vs. Pacquiao fight where you can get some beers and hang with or without reserving a spot.
For a fight as big as this one, surely somewhere will host it. While I don't have any answers for NYC, I can tell you that in San Francisco, the Abbey Tavern usually hosts any HBO boxing match, and Jillian's hosts big event cards.
A few of us in SF put together a group via craigslist ads to get together to watch fights. When you have a few friends who are all boxing fans, it makes watching fights more fun and affordable. Anyone in the Bay Area can check us out.
What I understand that (sad but true) some places like some sports bars no longer showing free ppv fights for their patrons. Due to legalities by HBO. So we don't have no place to watch ppv fights anymore.
Though it maybe too early to check, you can do what I do. Call all the local bars in your area to see if they will be ordering the fight. Like I said earlier, it maybe too early for some bars to decide if they are going to order the fight or not. Then again, you may find one or two places that may have their minds already made up in ordering.
