It was a lot like Metal Slug, but you had a little "pet" that gained power (levels) whenever you killed foes, and started on level 1 when you died. The little fella was always floating above your head. Another thing I remember is that the characters you could choose had a particular colour theme (the principal guy was red, there was a girl on pink, etc) and so were their pets. This description may not sound enough but thats what I remember :/
