Looking for an affordable phone with WiFi

title pretty much says it all.

I'm looking for a somewhat affordable phone with wifi capabilities. I'm with AT&T and I don't have a data plan, but it is my understanding that if the phone isn't AT&T branded I can bypass not having to buy a monthly data plan.

I work out of the house and I'm not the type that needs to check emails or Facebook and all that while on the road. I just need a phone that calls, texts and I can use my wireless internet from while at home/work.
 
well why dont u go on gsmarena.com
do a advanced search and filter out all the phones with WIFI
then go check the prices on ebay or at ur local store

samsung innov8

there are plenty of phones with wifi out there
 
I think all Wifi phones on ATT require a $30 smartphone plan. I was checking out the HTC Pure but I read at the xda forum that ATT is catching up with them and hitting them with $30 plans even if purchased unlocked. If not I'd probably hop on a used Pure via ebay. If you want new I believe the phone is around $300.
 
The Nokia E63 is is a very good affordable phone with Wifi. Also, it's unbranded, so if you are on AT&T, you can use it with the $15 data plan.
 
+1 for Nokia E63 or E71. You could find a great used one.

There are probably some Blackberries that would be better priced, but they don't have the best browser built-in.
 
. . and 10 seconds with the "not the best browser" in the vicinity of a WAP, and the OP can have the browser of their choice. . .


It's not like a Blackberry is a closed system.
 
I have an AT&T HTC Tilt 8925 that's not activated but I use the wifi wherever it's available, at home, at McDonalds, Motel 6, etc. I absolutely love this phone for wifi access. It has a good sized screen (2.8"), can scroll using wheel on the left side, thin bar on the screen (using fingernail), by touch, or by arrows on the pad. Pages load really nice and are easy to read. The $30 data package required by AT&T were too much for me so I had a Sam. Impression activated (cheaper @ $15), but no wifi on that. Bought Tilt, like new, for $130 on ebay.
