looking straight into the camera? usually the scene shows the main character(s) turning around and the enemy is standing there with guns pointed straight at their face. The camera then pans to show the guns pointed straight at the movie audience. What war movies depict scenes like this? thanks
 
Check the WWII themed movie "The Thin Red Line." The main character creates like a diversion so that his friends can escape and he ends up being captured in a field by the Japanese. That scene is like how you've described above. Hope that helps!
