I am currently looking for a used car that will last me at least 2 years (the rest of my collegiate career) with minimal mechanical problems.
I will be using my financial aid to put a down payment, and my family isn't trying to help me. My budget is $3000, and I have applied for a loan with a local credit union.
The cars that I have found are
1)2000 Mitsubishi Mirage: 75,000 miles for $2995. This one is from a car salesman. He guarantees the car for 1 month.
2) a 2004 Acura TL: $2300. don't know the mileage yet, but I have contacted the seller. It has great amenities, but I am worried about maintenance costs. One website says that it needs premium gas. Is that true?
3) a 2001 Hyaundai Elantra GLS with 60,000 original miles on it for $2300 This is also from craigslist's website. apparently the owner was an old man who hardly ever drove the car.
which of these cars sound like it is the best car for me?
