Finally after too many drops my sister?s phone (an LG Chocolate Flip 8600) is dead and I was given the task to find a replacement. She is on Telus CDMA network but since a new phone is required she will move to the new 3.5G HSPA network. So the main requirements are North American 3G / WCDMA bands: 850/1900 + Quad Band GSM for Roaming: 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900. Basically she needs a basic phone for just talking and occasional texting, NO internet or email on the phone.
My sister preference is towards a flip phone with big keys and easy to see digits but she also drops the phone a lot; and the result is the old phone died after it suffered a broken display and hinge. Because of her bad habit I thought a FULL METAL body, unlocked LG CU720 Shine would be a good replacement for her since it seems a good phone overall and can be had for ~ 80$ new on eBay. The thing is she doesn?t like slider phones but I will keep the LG as a last resort solution.
So any other flip phone that are durable but slim and preferably under 100$ ? I am located in Canada and I prefer buying something online (shop or eBay). I will not buy anything from the established carriers, my sister is still under contract and she doesn?t want to extend it.
