I currently have a MotoRazr (the first generation) through Cingular and it's a fine phone for what I do (which is call...no texts, no email, no IM's, no pictures...I just call).
However, I just picked up a Macbook Pro and I want to upgrade to an unlimited data plan and have a phone that can be a mobile modem for my laptop. I don't mean I want to dial up to a service provider with the phone though, I just want the phone to be the connection to the internet.
Couple questions I have:
is it possible to have a phone be EDGE and 3G? I can't get 3G at my house, but 5 minutes down the road, where I'll usually be I can so I want to be able to use it on both networks.
Is there a better version of the Razr that I should look into?
I want to spend less than $150 if possible and I have no problems signing a new contract to get the new phone, would prefer to stick with Cingular though.
I like slim, stylish looking phones that will fit in the little side pouch on carpenters jeans directly on the outer thigh.
Battery life is very important, however if the phone doesn't have the best battery life but does have a possible charger that I can hook into the laptop (i.e. a usb charger?) that would work as well.
Any ideas?
