Looking for a good place to camp/hike in new england?

Hi, I'm looking for a fun place for my boyfriend and I to go camping, hiking, and maybe kayaking. I would like to find a nice place around 3 hours from Boston. I camp a lot in the White Mountains NH and was looking for something different. Any ideas?

Hermit Island Maine. It is just south of Bath and offers tent and small pop-up camping. They have a few hiking trails and it is located on a tranquil inlet of Casco Bay that is perfect for kayaking (I think they even rent them).

Oops. I guess I should have read the previous post before I posted this. One note though. If you should chose to go to Hermit Island reservations are pretty much required as they fill most of their sites well in advance during the peak season.
