Looking for a car with great miles per gallon?

I am 19 and am looking to buy a car in the next month or so, but I'm going to buy a used car because I only have about $2000-$3000 to spend. I wan't a car that gets good gas mileage, I don't want to have a gas guzzler. Anyone know of anycars like from the 90's that have good gas mileage
