Looking for a book about a girl, a Cat named Margot, and a boy named Touchstone.?

I read it in middle school, well, most of it, and I wan't to read it again and finish it. Problem is, I can't remember the name of the book. It was so long ago. I can't even remember the main character's name. The only two characters I remember are Margot the talking cat, and Touchstone, a boy that main character finds under a spell as a figurehead on a ship.
 
This was a hard search, but somehow I found it :)
The main character and title: Sabriel
The "cat": Moggot
Apparently, this is the first book in what is known the Abhorsen Trilogy.
