its a 01 cadi, seville with 70,000, looks like its loaded, no visible body damage wuith 70K miles and going for $7,000. ANyone have or known of any problems with this series, my buddy says that they are notorious for electrical problems. I'm going to be using this mostly for my commute to chicago back and forth every day (120+ miles a day) and looking for something inexpensive and comforatable to drive in . thanks

If you're looking for something inexpensive, you're looking at the wrong car. That Northstar engine requires premium fuel. It gets a realistic 16-17 MPG on the highway. And rear main seals go out around 75,000 miles. Leaking main seals is a very common problem with Northstar engines. They all leak. Repairs cost $2500-$4000 depending on the repair shop because the engine has to be pulled out. And it has to be done because the engine could seize from lack of oil.

The Seville never had the electronic problems the Deville had. For some reason the Deville was hell on its electrical system. Especially starters and generators. But still, the cost of gas, the low MPG and the cost of a rear main seal leak makes a used Seville a costly purchase.

It is plush and rides like a dream. But at quite a cost.
