Not really. A brief visit to the Bahamas last year is as close as I've got.
Will be visiting my mate in Lauderdale again, so it's not far from there.

Just looking at it, I would say its a 996. Rear rim was the give away; however, rims are easily changable...It's nearly impossible to tell with the aftermarket fairing, but if I had to guess, the 996 would be my vote.

To me, the frame looks red and as far as I know, none of the 916 family came with a red frame. If it's been apart to PC the frame, any number of different model parts could have been swapped.
