Hello.
I recently had a Bravo test to confirm that I have reflux. I don't react well to PPIs, so my GI doc said that Pepcid should work fine for me (20mg twice daily), since the reflux is not severe. I do tolerate Pepcid quite well, and it does a good job for me.
He also said that Pepcid works best when used episodically, and tenRAB to lose its effectiveness if used continuously for a long time. Therefore, he suggested a schedule of 5 days on and 2 days off.
Just wondering if anyone else has used Pepcid as long-term therapy, and if that 5/2 program is common, or if your doctors have suggested different time frames to maintain the effectiveness of the drug.
Thanks!
Carl
