Hi there, could somebody help? Long story..
I have a 2 year old little boy and a 1 year old Border Collie, both who I love to bits. The reason I got the dog was with the idea that it would be good for our only son to grow up with a companion, to teach him responsibility and for the reason that I always had dogs growing up and they made me very happy.
Problem is, we found out 6 months ago that our son has Autism, and does not know how to communicate with people, his beaviour is erratic and unpredictable. We got the dog before we knew of this problem. My dog is quite highly strung and is sometimes jealous of my son, and possessive with his toys. I decided that the best thing for my son would be to rehome my dog, to a family who could give him 100% attention, so I could also give my son 100% and help him overcome the Autism. I want to make it clear that the decision was not taken lightly but I felt that I had to do it for both of them.
Anyway, I rehomed him to a man and family...
