Long Good Friday bluray - DTS sound problem.

Just what is it with the lack of care shown of releases of this movie?

After the bog standard mono dvd soundtracks, the old 2.0 dolby stereo soundtracks of old, and the dreadful 5.1 mix one the last special edition of this movie (dreadfully echoey and unnatural sounding) - now with the blu ray release, we get a DTS track that seems to consist primarily a distracting background hum all through the movie.

And yes, I have checked my equipment, and none of my other movies with DTS tracks exhibit such a hum.

Of course, it could simply be a faulty disc, and I guess I could try exchanging it first - but given the history of the shameful way this movie has been treated in previous releases (I mean the damn thing is nearly 30 years old, and they have never given it a basic english subtitle option!), I have a feeling it will probably be deliberate.

In fact, there is no advantage in having this on blu ray at all. The pic has obviously not had any sort of remastering, the extras are the same as the previous DVD release, and there seems little point in grafting 5.1 and DTS tracks onto such movies if you are not actually going to make any use of the surrounRAB whatsoever.

Does anyone else have a copy of this?
