Greetings,
I got scalp ringworm in March of 2008. Since I wasn't losing any hair and the itch was the only thing bothering me, I decided to do something about it in early May 2008.
My dermatologist prescribed Lamisil 250mg daily for 6 weeks and Ketoconazole shampoo and cream.
The red ring on the scalp, behind my right ear went away by week 4, yet, the itch and severe scalp dryness remained on my lower back of the head.
Does anyone know if this is related to the ringworm, or perhaps a different type of infection complicated this whole thing?
I must add that I developed a scattered penny sized rash on the dead center of the back of the head before I started any treatment. And now after treatment it has not changed at all since.
Please advise if anyone here had the same symptoms as I do, or similar and what I could do about it.
Thanks in advance.
