Live-action "Bleach" film in the works!

Holy cow, oddly enough I'm just getting into the show.
I'm at episode 55 now and people were saying that this is the one show that couldn't be turned into live action, than this pop's up LOL. I'm dredding this at the same time I'm curious. Who could they possibly choose for the main characters? Oh gah, please no one in Twilight or I'll puke

Wait wait wait... you're telling me there will possibly be a live-action Bleach movie before there is a live-action Naruto movie? I find that incredibly shocking.

There is no way THIS will ever seem cool.

Well, to put it simply...

No. No. No.
No. No. No.
No. No. No.
No. No. No.
No. No. No.
No. No. No.
No. No. No.
No. No. No.
No. No. No.

Unless of course I'm writing it, then I'll know it would be good.

Should this be put in live action forums and Anime forums?
Cuz there's already one in the anime forums but since its being delt with live action too, just thought. If not, please close this k?

The Hollywood Reporter newspaper's Heat Vision blog reports that the American film studio Warner Brothers "is in the process of securing the movie rights to" Tite Kubo's Bleach supernatural action manga series. Director Peter Segal (Get Smart, The Longest Yard, Anger Management) is lining himself up to produce, but not direct. The manga's North American publisher Viz Media and Segal's Callahan Filmworks partner Michael Ewing would also produce the proposed project.

The manga follows a 15-year-old boy named Ichigo Kurosaki who becomes a Soul Reaper — a "Shinigami" or "God of Death" who protects humans from the "Hollow" spirits that prey on them. Shueisha publishes the manga in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in Japan, and Studio Pierrot has been adapting the manga on television and in movie theaters since 2004. The Adult Swim programming block of America's Cartoon Network and Canada's YTV channel have been running the anime.
Warner Brothers has already acquired the rights to adapt Tsugumi Orabroada and Takeshi Obata's Death Note supernatural suspense manga, which — like Bleach — is published by Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump in Japan and by Viz Media in North America. Along with Leonardo DiCaprio's Appian Way production company, Warner Brothers is also developing adaptations of Yoshiaki Kawajiri and MADHOUSE's Ninja Scroll action anime film and Katsuhiro Otomo and Kodansha's Akira science-fiction manga. Viz set up an office in Hollywood in 2008 to promote Viz's properties to Hollywood interests. Update: More background information added.

Say it with me, WTF?!

They never learn do they?

Hypothetically, if they actually want to do this right, which I doubt, I'd say just stick to the style of everything pre-Soul Society. Everything featuring Soul Society would probably be laughably bad in live-action

I wonder if Kubo will speak about the rumors on his Twitter?

Anyhow, if a live action film has to be made, it'd better not be trash. In terms of raw story, capping the film with the Grand Fisher (as well as covering the subplot about Ichigo's mom) would be the most logical way to go about things, at least for a single one film.

There is no way this is going to end well, unless they just did the movie about Ichigo and the Grandfisher, I can't see it completely following the whole Soul Society arc. ...I mean...a live action Captains meeting? Spare me please..

And I can't take a live action Hitsugaya, Kenpachi, and Byakuya seriously. xP

I doubt this'll get off the ground. Kubo hasn't given up the live action movie rights yet, and I doubt he ever will. X)

But I agree, a pre-SS arc story could be adapted fairly easily. I wouldn't do a straight adaptation 'cause there's too much stuff to cram in there, but a side story could work pretty well.

Oh geeze, I just thought of a way to make it more accessible to Americans too... XD

Remeraber Torab Raider? Angelina Jolie was the last person I thought to fill in Lara's more-unrealistic-than-Barbie's proportions. It's Hollywood. Never doubt them. Of course, you'll continue doubting them because you believe they don't represent "true America"...

...screw it. I want live-action Bleach! Also, be glad it's the guy who produced Get Smart and The Longest Yard. Imagine if it ended up in the hanRAB of Michael Bay's production company, whose responsible for turning Freedy Kruger and Jason Vorhees into pointless remakes for WB! Or, in the hanRAB of Fox!

Trust me, Hollywood could do worse. Like giving Don_East or Beat writing credits! Imagine how bad those could be!

/checks to see if Dragonball: Evolution is in his Netflix queue
/it is fourth, behind BasterRAB, Hurt Locker, and Street Fighter Chun-Li
/After DBE? Glass Fleet

Hey, I'm a good writer or atleast better than 90% of Hollywood. Despite protests, I have thought about if I did a Bleach movie it would have a 2 hour and 15 minute runtime that's based off of the Substitute storyline.
