little white bumps on face

I have many small white dots on my around my eyes. they do not hurt at all, they are just there. I have had one for over a year and my most recent one i got today and it is right in the corner of my eye (where eye boogers usually settle!) What are they and do i get rid of them???
 
my bf used to get these above his eyelid and he said his doctor told him it was from stress.....he doesn't have them anymore....maybe that's what it is....
 
I think they are milia. They are best rid of by extracting with an ultra fine lancet. But if they are very close to the eyes, you might want to go to a spa or salon to have a professional do it for you.
