little direction req'd

hi,just received a 8100 pearl gsm bb.i have a few questions before i get a hold of rogers.my razr is active with rogers and of course the sim card.the bb did not come with a sim,so can i just transfer the sim?.i suspect there is not much i can do anyway until i get a data plan,correct?.my intention is also to take it to europe with me later this year,any advice regarding that?.thanks,a lot of noob questions i know.

hehe no worries were here to help
first of all until you have a data plan all you will be able to do is text, call and the things u used to do on a razr lol (there is a 15$ plan that is pretty cool if you follow my tutorial check my signature for it).
as for taking it to europe you have to get it unlocked. to do that just go to your shopping mall theres usually little booths with people that unlock cellphones if not check online

thanks for the info.i did skim over your tut the other day as i knew the bb was on it's way.so rogers will have to send me a different sim when i register the phone? thanks again.

no not at all they will do all the necessary changes on your account and guide u thru setting up ur berry

I'm was in the same boat as you. My plan came with a Razr, and I just switched the SIM card to my Pearl and added the $15 data plan, high recommended, especially with ranxoren's tutorials.
