This is a very interesting situation. It is now a race between the open source community and PalmSource. With this latest development, one can't help but wonder why the OS wasn't updated for existing devices by Palm. However, this does tell us that hope is still alive for the new Linux version of the Palm OS.
I am trying to make my T3 run until the next generation of Palm's come out. My T3 is over 2 years old and is starting to show it's wear and tear. I don't want to purchase a new device right now, because the new Linux Palm devices are close to being released. I don't want to purchase a white elephant. I see the purchase of a handheld as a major investment that hopefully will be useful and supported for a long time.
