Linux on a net-book. Has anyone tried it?

I was thinking of buying a net-book, just for the long battery life and portability.

When I say "net-book", I mean 9" screen and 8 hour battery life.

I doubt CentOS will have drivers for the power management. I am thinking the battery life will not be so great. Has anyone attempted this?
