I have an essay to write that revolves around the Lincoln-Douglas debate, specifically at Freeport in August 27, 1858.
I am having such a hard time just trying to find a thesis here, something to argue in my paper! Slavery of course is the hot topic, and more specifically its spread to the territories.
So what can I take from this debate and argue about for a bunch of pages?
