I just got a Lincoln 225 welder with a extra large plug (regular looking plug). It doesn't match my dryer plug either. What should I do?
I think I just might call an electrician. Its requires 50 amps. My dryer is 30. Plus I can't convert my dryer outlet anyway, I need to use my dryer..lol . So I must convert the garage 110v recepticle.

You will likely find it matches a 225 volt plug for a stove.

You need to feed this with the same type of circuit your stove uses, and at least 50 amps.
If the plug has 3 vertical straight blades and one ground prong it is NEMA 14-50.
That means it is meant for a 225 volt 50 amp receptacle.

If you modify the plug you will be either constantly tripping the circuit breakers or causing a fire.
The plug for your dryer is likely only 30 amp
