Lightweight, good battery life, bluetooth PC sync (skip the camera and mp3 BS)

Here's the deal, I'm looking for a reliable mobile phone that can do well in its primary duties as a communications device, and preferably not be bothered with gimmicks, bells, and whistles (half-*** mp3, mediocre camera, lame-*** web browsing). To me this translates into good conversation sound quality, good battery life, weight under 90 grams, and bluetooth for address book synching and hands-free capabilities.

I have a Palm T|X for mobile entertainment, light document reading, and web browsing when pulling out a laptop is not convenient. I am truly hungry for a well-built business-oriented phone that is easy to carry all the time, is not afraid of prolonged conversations once in a while, and can play well with my other devices (PDA, laptop, PC) for synchronizing contacts and maybe basic calendaring.

I've given up hope on finding such a device for CDMA. I'm currently with Telus, but completely open to GSM suggestions.

My candidates so far:
- Samsung P310
- VKMobile VK5000
- Haier Elegance

Do you have any other model suggestions? Do you desire a similar phone? Share your thoughts!
 
well your needs are pretty simple, there are alot of phones which can handle this such as SE w810i, call quality,battery life are both exceptional. there are syncing functions and also supports blutooth v2.0.
It also has GOOD mp3 music functions and camera. Has basic organiser and calendar which is adequate for day to day stuff, since u already have a pda for more advanced organising...its quad-band too so great for traveling.
I wouldnt call this a business phone though, but its good enough for you. Theres also the newer k550i, similar to this but slimmer in size.

If you dont like that, then go for a motorola rokr E6, it is a touchscreen phone and has more than enough functions for you to be playing around with for the price it costs.

The p310 looks good, but have heard reviews saying battery life is poor.
 
Thanks for your tips! k550i looks like a good candidate to me. Unless I find some other phone with similar specs, I may end up getting this, come mid-April.
By the way, would asking for a k550i-like phone that uses SD cards be just too nitpicky?
 
well you could always try nokia phones, there always a good choice to go with...say the 6280 for example, or samsung d900
