radio and clock light in my 00 ford explorer stays on for a while then goes out. What will I need to replace? The radio and CD player are still working. I just can't see the channel or time.

You may need a new radio head unit, but check the dimmer switch, too. If this happens with all the dash lights, I'd suspect the dimmer. If it's just the lights on the radio, I'd suspect the radio. You will probably have better luck putting in an aftermarket radio head unit than getting a new one from Ford.

It sounds like your stereo is acting up internally so have a audio shop take a look give to a free opinion on it.By the way is the digital display displaying broken up or partial numbers etc if so that means the display is going on the stereo.
