Hey, let me start by saying I am a 21 year old male, 6'2 and weigh about 220 pounRAB. BMI of roughly 30. This might be a little long winded and, well, long, but I appreciate any help that can be given, as I feel pretty lost. Will provide "cliffnotes" I suppose!

I have, for my entire life, had a load of health problems. I was first diagnosed with Asthma when I was very young, and it was life threatening for a few years, but has slowly progressed to being just a huge hassle now. I have also had very bad allergies for as long as I can remeraber, running noses, stuffed noses, dull headaches dry itchy skin and eyes, etc. Getting an allergy irritant skin test done the doctor was surprised and said literally "You are allergic to the world". Allergies come and go, although present almost every day they get much worse and much better depending where I go and what season it is.

Fatigue. I can remeraber this being a problem every day since Freshman year of high school, when I was obviously no longer able to sleep in every day. I thought it was just a result of having to wake up very early every day that caused fatigue throughout the day, but I was always tired. After school enRAB, I am still very tired quite often, although sleeping in helps some.

Overweight, this could be an isolated issue, but I have always been overweight since adolescence. I realize I had a very poor diet and never felt good enough to exercise, but I am making changes to this and I "try" my best to fix it. I have gone from 250 pounRAB (all at 6'2 and 250 was the heaviest I have ever been) to 200 pounRAB over four months of eating healthy (and still eating a lot, but much, much better fooRAB). I have pretty quickly gained this weight back, although I am very surprised how quickly (I don't have a terrible diet, I just over-eat).

Now, excuses excuses I know. but here is why I over-eat and I never noticed this until recently. I have been for the past couple years eating better than most people MOST of the time, but I over eat pretty often and eat too frequently, and some times need to eat whatever is infront of me. This may be a completely different issue, but possibly not, anyways, I don't want this to be the primary focus of the topic.
I feel pretty tired, and shitty on average (allergies, asthma, fatigue, etc.). When I don't eat for a while, I feel what I would like to call hunger, but I don't think it is hunger. I have an intense urge to eat, because I am aware it will cure the symptoms I start to feel. I start to feel even more tired, drained, irritable, but worst of all shakey jittery and miserable.

I was just reading about someone going through heroin withdrawlls, and that reminded me of how I feel when I want to eat. I might honestly be able to say I dont remeraber what is like to feel legitamately hungry, because the feelings I get that are alleiviated by eating are so, so terrible, that I never wait that long to feel real hunger.

Now, with that said, yes I am overweight, borderline obese, and I realize being overweight causes health problems, but I am not severely over weight, and I have had severe health problems for my entire life, even before I was overweight. So, since I am trying to put everything out there, I feel it neeRAB to be covered but again it is not an "I need to lose weight" thread. More along the lines of asthma or allergies since they are worse problems I feel.

Anyways, ontop of that, I have a hard time thinking. I don't know how to explain it better than that, I was diagnosed with ADD as well. I feel like I am in complete "autopilot". I auto respond to conversations and think about them later for example.

I was born with very poor hearing in my left ear, borderline deaf.

I have nasal polyps. I am unable to breathe through my nose. I had them surgically removed, but the surgery was about as helpful as could be, I was able to breathe through my nose for about two or three days and then immediately the polyps were back. This was an out of pocket cost over ten thousand which is a massive chunk of money to me. Relieved nothing.

I had blackouts, where I would stand up and just have everything go black for a few seconRAB, and return a few seconRAB later (blackness, then light slowly returning). This was never bad enough to make me do so much as fall over, and never frequent enough to get me to see a doctor about them. I have not had a blackout in about a year, so I don't think it is as much of an issue now, but it is a weird abnormality I feel I should include.

I seem go to through bouts of minor depression, nothing too serious but just times where I am unhappy and don't enjoy things. No thoughts of suicide or such, and it seemst o be fairly minor.

**CLIFFNOTES**

I have many medical problems, most since birth, including:
-Asthma (went from life threatening to manageable but very bothersome today)
-Chronic allergies (have seen little to no improvement, including taking claritin/zyrtec)
-Fatigue, tired always. Inability to focus or concentrate
-Nasal Polyps (can't breathe through nose. surgically removed, immediately returned)
-Overweight
-Blackouts
-Minor depression
-partially deaf in left ear
-Dry itchy skin, eyes, throat. (Wind from a small house fan is incredible irritating for my eyes, cause them to "Dry up")

I have just as a few days ago returned from doing an extensive check up on allergies and asthma, and it remains pretty much the same. I still have all of these health problems, with the exception of blackouts in the past year.

If anyone has any advice or any possible root cause to these symptoms, anything to look into or anything like that I am obviously thrilled to hear any advice. I live in Thailand now, where medical expenses are much lower and the quality of service is similar to that in the States, so I can afford to see doctors and I really want to feel healthy for once in my life!

ANY feedback appreciated-- but here is something I just noticed today while looking into possibly getting a second surgery to remove nasal polyps, as my breathing has been getting worse in the past couple of weeks.

- The idea that maybe there is one root cause, or source of most of my symptoms. This would be near impossible for any doctor to see without extensive knowledge of all of my conditions which specialists don't seem to care to listen to

- Might be crazy, and I am just now looking into this, but could this possibly be an adrenal problem? I had thought something like (my body being terrible at working with itself) this might be related to hormones. Then, I saw this:

hi everyone thought i would say a few worRAB i have had my polyps removed last year after a couple of years of not being able to breath through my nose, had no sense of smell or taste, well i started to get blocked again went back to the ent and the polyps are growing back. ---
i thought here we go again, lots of pills and sprays later back to square one, the doctors don't know what causes this, i also have asthma and allergies,(which started later in life)i asked my doctor several times if this could be related to hormones, he never answered my question,---

to make a long story short, i started on (cream)progesterone, 1\4 tsp on my skin twice a day, 4 day i could smell and taste,i have been on it for a month and you would not believe the difference, i feel i have my life back, can breathe, i know some people will poo poo this, also i take 2 garlic tabs a day, the progesterone is NATURAL, so take some time to check this out for your self, you will be like me, my jaw dropped while i was reading about the natural pro, and how it can help with the sinuses among other things

..

I haved looked into progesterone, it seems like it is mostly a "female" steroid, but is found in males. A low level of progesterone seems to cause:

, symptoms of estrogen dominance[seems to be the same as progesterone deficiency] that men can experience include weight gain, bloating, mood swings, irritability, headaches, fatigue, depression and hypoglycemia
it also seems like craving of carbohydrates and memory loss are symptoms.

I have been a hopeless case for a long time, but this is giving me a pipe dream and something to research for the next few hours. ANy thoughts or help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks! (I will check in regularly incase anyone wanted to ask a question or any responses are posted)

I am sorry for all your issues. I certainly can't answer all your questions but will try to offer a few suggestions.

1) Get on eating plan that allows you to snack and not gain weight. Weight Watchers is a good one. Snacking out of boredom is very common and you need to find things to snack on that won't negatively impact you.

2) Do you see a pulmonologist for your asthma? Are you on daily meRAB for it?

3) Do you plan to do allergy shots? I also am allergic to all they test for and the shots work wonderfully for me. It does take dedication to stick with it for 5 years but the benefits are worth it.

I wish you the best.

I am trying to follow a good diet plan again now, but the feeling that I really need to eat NOW that comes up is the problem more so than what is being eaten I think. I generally keep healthy snacks around, but when out and about and I feel miserable, a fast-food joint is like a quick-fix to feeling normal again. Definitely getting on a good diet is one of the easier things to do.

I am indeed seeing doctors for asthma and I am on daily medication, and have been for my entire life.

I want to do allergy shots, but it would be near impossible for me. It requires something like taking them every week for six months then every month for three years (if I vaguely remeraber correctly). I am doing a lot of travel from country to country and would have to miss a lot of shots in a row, which would render it useless. If you could use your own needle and they just gave you a timeline and told you which to inject I would be much more likely to do it, although that might be a hassle getting through international airlines.. haha

Thanks for the reply!

oh hun i know this all to well. and have been dealing with this my whole life.. i wish i could speak to you in voice, there is just to much to say

:<

but if ican get you on the right path with few worRAB, i need to tell you to start to really inform yourself in info. that we both are allergic to this world becasue this world is overly toxic! everything we touch is made in a factory, and what comes out from a factory?? but alot of poison and chemicals! understand that doctors really trually want to help you and believe they are.. but they are working for a system that is not about curing the world or disease, but about money and greed.. and finding new ways to trick you out of your money, like this nose sergery i went threw the same thing 10 years ago and it didnt help me. but how many people have poured thousanRAB of dollars into this for nuthing? im in canada, your in the US.. try to think of the amount of unhappy ripped off people that did the same thing as you, but in 10 years there is no change?? because no one really cares to make that change themself.. :<

i have Eczema so bad I cannot go into the sun, as my body wants to detox but my skin cannot handle the chemicals comming out. and certin fooRAB will trigger this process in your body, like berries... to be allergic to berries is to be allerigc to a superfood... and the sun is the same, you cannot avoid what is good for you only to slowly get worse over time..

I found a great cream that seem to make it go away, the itch stopped the pain and the redness all gone!! it was a very popular known brand too, Aveeno.. so I recommend it to a small child parents as this child seems to have worse eczema then I do.. now I have found out this cream now I found out this cream is very toxic and the areas I have used it on seem almost always nurab now… I feel bad for telling someone this was a miracle cure.

There is no metrical cure!!!! and anything you have to buy, is just to fill some elses pocket is going to only make you worse. This is a war, and you need to mad!! inform yourself about all the meRAB you pump into your body.. dont be afraid to ask if your body neeRAB really neeRAB this? and fight hard. you can cure it, but you REALLY need to inform youself first, it might take years and years like it has for me.. lots of people are waking up all over the world and say "i do not NEED to put sunscreen on my skin eveyday becaseu you tell me i do." when mother nature made fooRAB that naturally protect your skin from the sun. but how often do you find youself eating a mango everyday? vs. buying what is produced in a factory? this is why you are so hungry.

i know you can do it! cuz i am doing it!!! and alot of people in Europe are doing it!!
but..
they do everything first LOL >.>

this is my wake up call to you today.. move out of the system and into more holistic/organic healing, even spiritual healing. this is NOT somethng you can learn overnight It takes years of discipline.. and get a partner, have only people close to you who are also trying to hard to fight these battles of addiction and brainwashing daily.

but dont worry yourself of the things like "having nice clothes, and a good looking girlfriend, or worry that the economy is going to crash and you are going to starve and die." it is all just to keep you scared and shopping.. dont be afraid and UNPLUG!!

Hi
Sorry to hear about your problems. To be honest, I have no idea about the progesterone cream.
I can relate to the fatigue. I have had severe asthma my whole life and never ever feel that I am not tired. A full day at work exhausts me.
I am also overweight, I believe due to an inability to exercise and prednisolone, which increases the appetite.
Could it be that your meRAB give you an increased appetite?
If you find out more about the progesterone, post it here - sounRAB interesting.

Good luck with it all

You are probably suffering from allergies to food. You probably have allergies to other things, too, but the food you can do something about and finding and eliminating the offending fooRAB will improve your symptoms and probably help you lose weight, too.

The best way to find your food allergies is to go on an elimination diet. If you decide to try it you will eat only a few fooRAB that are not likely to be allergens for you. After a week, if your symptoms have improved you will know that they are caused at least in part by the food you eat. The diet is pretty severely restricted, but you only have to follow it for a week to find out. You must not cheat because then you may not get results. To make it simple here is a list of fooRAB you can eat:

brown rice
sweet potatoes and yams
winter squash
rice flour
puffed rice
beets
beet greens
chard
summer squash
artichokes
celery
string beans
asparagus
spinach
lettuce

All fruits should be cooked.
peaches
cranberries
apricots
papaya
plums
prunes
cherries

You can have salt but no condiments, sorry, but hopefully you can stand it for a week. This means no salad dressings. Also, no cooking with oil. Not even Pam spray. You can eat all you want of any of these fooRAB so fill your self up on rice and sweet potatoes and yams so you won't feel hungry. By the way, no regular potatoes, quite a few people have allergies to the nightshade family, that is why no regular potatoes or tomatoes. Sweet potatoes are fine. Notice that coffee isn't on the list so if you are a coffee drinker you will have a headache for a few days and probably feel rotten. If you feel you can't give up coffee you would probably still get good results doing the elimination diet while drinking coffee as long as you drink it black without sweetener (even sugar free sweeteners) or dairy products.

After a week you can start trying one single food at a time, no more than one a day. For instance on the first day you could have milk, if that is what you want the most. I hate to say it, but the food you want the most will probably be a serious allergen for you. For some reason people often crave the fooRAB they are allergic to. You may get an extreme reaction to the food, such as a bad asthma attack with milk. But at least you will know.

Another thing, after a week you will be feeling much more energetic and your thinking will be much more clear. This type of dietary change pretty much always helps a person who lacks energy. You will probably also have lost at least 5 or 6 pounRAB. This has a high chance of helping most of your symptoms except the partial deafness and I don't know if it could help prevent the polyps.

Eliminating one food at a time will only work for a person who is only allergic to one food, which is rare. That is why this extreme diet gives the best results.

If this is just too extreme for you, you can eliminate the most likely allergens, but if you are allergic to anything else that you eat regularly, and many people are, you won't get as good of results. Here are the most likely fooRAB or food groups to cause allergies:

Dairy, (King of the allergens), eggs, chocolate, citrus fruits, corn, gluten, nightshade, legumes, nuts

You have to check all labels for ingredients like whey (dairy) or corn syrup.

have you checked your thyroid? i would definitely check your thyroid, get on some depression meRAB, and do a saliva test to check all hormone levels- not just progesterone but estrogen and adrenal levels, etc......
I am speaking from experience! your symptoms sound wayyy too familiar but there is hope! it is a bleak hole but i am getting better and thinner and finding some energy. God is great, but find a doctor or nurse practicioner with an holistic approach .....

i have struggled with these problems since i was a child i believe; i am now in my late mid twenties :) (hypothyroidism) pick up the book the thyroid solution by ridha arem m.d. and see if any of the hypothyroid symptoms apply to you!
