life span of mercury poisoning?

when exposed to mercury (large amounts) Does the mercury poison stay in your body without treatment or can it go away on its own? I know you can detox it through chelation but its been 10 years (with no treatment) since i touch mercury so am i still poisoned ?
 
Mercury is not expelled by the body in any way, but rather is absorbed by the body's cells, the amount of mercury that you have ingested or absorbed will forever remain the same.
