Life Long Basketball injuries?

This year I've played basketball a lot and avoided it so much before because I always thought I would get hurt. Guess what? I got hurt a lot.

I have jammed my right middle finger multiple times. When I bend the finger as far as I can both ways it somewhat hurts. When I bend my left middle finger it doesn't hurt. What's wrong? How can I get my right middle finger back to normal?

This one time I was shooting a three and a big friend of mine tried to pack (not sure if this is spelled right, but it's when someone tries to block your shot and succeeds) his hand hit my right thumb and I still remember my right thumb touching the other side of my hand. I went to the doctor for an X-ray because I thought I sprained it but they said it was fine. Ever since my right hand could not do the double jointed stuff it used to be able to do. Also when I bend my right thumb as far as I can both ways it hurts too.

I don't want to live the rest of my life with these injuries... :dizzy:

It might help to ice your hand for 10-15 minutes a couple times a day. And not jam it again for a while.

How long has your hand been hurting? When did you first damage it?

Also, you may want to look into warmup exercises before playing. You should be warming up your legs and your arms and hands, to help prevent injury.

You may not be able to reverse the damage. I played a lot of softball and volleyball as a kid. I knocked my right thumb out of joint several times. Now, I doesn't bend out as far as the other thumb. I'm told by doctors that nothing can be done.
