Life after university---unemployed! What should I do?!?

Ok, so I graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Urban Planning back in June 2007. Since then, I've only managed to land ONE measley position pertaining to my planning. This was a temporary position for 3 months, and since May of 2009, I'm no longer employed there. Besides, that position didn't give me much experience either since it only had one project related to urban planning. Mostly, I just did bookkeeping work there. Oh yeah, forget to mention, I'm 24 now. I dont' even have a part-time job no either. So you can imagine the financial troubles I'm enduring now.

It's so frustrating! I applied online to many urban planning positions I see. Everytime I applied, I get no response in return. Plus, the urban planning jobs being advertised require such heavy credentials (i.e. experience in "X" number of years, and so on). What?! Do they expect all of us to be born with experience?! I just got out of university! Damn, It's ridiculous! Plus, If I'm not hired, at least they could have had enough courtesy to call me back and tell me so instead of leaving me hanging.

I don't know! Being ignored/ rejected by employers has brought my morale to new lows---it makes me feel like crap! At times I feel like a colossal failure. I'm battling depression too, which compounds my problem. I'm also living under the same roof of my verbally abusive parents who cannot get along with me, or let alone get along with each other.

Now I' m left to think about a few things:

1) How long should I ride this out (ie. look for more urban planning jobs)?

2) I'm thinking of pursuing a meteorology degree since I feel I'm now more interested in the weather than urban planning. Question is, will the jobs be easy to get after I graduate? I'm just too afraid to trad into unchartered waters thinking that I might drown again...in debt that is...

3) If meteorology jobs are not easy to get, are there any other fields you know of that are less competitive where you can at least get hired more easily?

4) What should (or can) I do with my talent in writing rap music/ poetry? Will that be of use?

and

5) Going back to part 1, if I wanted to ride this out longer with finding an urban planning job, what kind of positions can (or should) I look for? Internships? Volunteer work? How do I at least get my foot in the door?

There's just so much going on, so much to think about. I guess the job market's just tough out there at the moment, am I right? Plus, it doesn't help matters much knowing that I blew $25, 000 to get that degree in urban planning. Yeah, here in Toronto, Canada, it costs on average $5000 + a year in terms of tuition fees if you want to attend university, which is way too much! New grads withou a job like myself are royally screwed, that's for sure! Especially now, I'm thinking abou whether or not to go back to unviersity and get that meteorology degree.

So yeah, what should I do?! Is there hope?! Rational and reasonable responses ar welcomed with regards to the 5 part questions I listed above Any help's appreciated. Thanks!
