Lied on Law School Application, should he come forward?

A friend of mine lied on his Law School Application about having no disciplinary records (he was expelled from a university) and is now a 1L. He feels guilty about it, but is doing very well in school, and doesn't know whether he should come forward and risk getting expelled, wait, or not say anything. I've read that these sort of omissions get found out in the Bar Applications. What is the most sensible thing to do? Can he get pardoned?
 
your buddy is pretty much screwed. he lied on an application, which can be a federal crime. he probably wouldn't have gotten in with the discipinary record, and even though he's doing good, technically he shouldn't be there. you should let him go through the rest of learning, and then when it comes time for the Bar, Pray to God that they don't see it.
If it does come up, then well, he has all that lawyer training under his belt, then he can twist it to his benifit!
